A Department of Justice spokeswoman said a burial order was made on Monday afternoon which meant Monis' next of kin could now organise his funeral.

It is not known if anyone plans to or has collected his remains.

"If no one comes forward to claim his body, a destitute burial will be organised through NSW Health," a department spokeswoman said.

A NSW Health spokeswoman said local health districts were responsible for processing and paying for destitute burials and cremations.

"Where the death of a person has occurred outside of a public health facility, and the police have determined that the state is ultimately responsible for their burial, the local health district will fund a funeral," a spokesman said.

The NSW coroner has not finalised any autopsy results and will not be releasing any more information before an inquest.

Monis' partner Amirah Droudis will not be able to collect his body after she was taken into custody on Monday afternoon.

Ms Droudis had her bail revoked on a charge of murder, with a court finding she posed an "unacceptable risk".

The DPP applied for Ms Droudis' bail to be revoked when, following the Sydney siege, NSW Attorney-General Brad Hazzard asked it to review the decision to grant bail.

She was charged in November last year with murdering Noleen Hayson Pal, who had been stabbed 18 times and then set alight in the stairwell of her Werrington home in April.

Last year she was found guilty, along with Monis, of sending abusive letters to the families of dead Australian Defence Force personnel. She was awaiting sentence in the ADF case at the time of the alleged murder, the Downing Centre Local Court heard.
