The school was recently allocated $19,940 through the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.
The grant will be used to carry out thorough electrical upgrades of both of their premises in Campbell Street, including wiring, fuse boxes and downlights.
YRSM said this work will be progressively done by a fully-qualified local electrician during low-activity times such as school holidays.
“The electrical upgrade is very timely to bring the standard of electrical infrastructure up to industry standards, provide a safer working and learning environment and to enhance lighting in our performance areas,” YRSM said.
Member for Burrinjuck Katrina Hodgkinson presented the cheque to YRSM director Stewart Bruce and management committee president Jonathan Tuckfield in a short ceremony on the last Tuesday of the YRSM school year.
With a small audience of parents, students and staff, Ms Hodgkinson was treated to a short concert with musical items provided by YRSM students Asher Crowden, Maddy Fisher and Elliott Dodd.
