The cricketing challenge - which has been in operation throughout the cricketing region for the best part of a century - will be the last representative opportunity for Young this season.
This is ahead of a planned shake up of the representative set-up during the upcoming off season.
With just three challenges to go, Parkes has been the dominant team this season.
They’ve been able to withstand all challengers that have come at them - the closest competition being Cowra, who went down by three wickets during their last challenge and affording Young the opportunity to challenge before the season was out.
With the local B Grade cricket competition wrapping up its regular season this Saturday, all eyes will immediately turn to Sunday’s Grinstead Cup Challenge with a mixture of A Grade and performing B Grade players selected to make the journey to Parkes.
The team’s quietly confident of a strong showing.
Luke Cosgrove, Nathan Anderson, Nick Corbett, Kris Scelly, Duncan Cameron, Nick Bush, Hayden Furner, Jacob Dodge, Brendon Meynell, Karl Ross, and Jonte Powderly are the local players who have been selected to challenge for the cup.
They’re confident that by binding together as a team they may be able to cause what would be a massive upset and bring the cup home to Young.
