Local breeder Tony Starr - who has been breeding Limousins for six years - said it’s their first and biggest win by far.
“You can’t win at many royals,” wife Charna Starr said.
“We’re feeling pretty good.”
Birubi Knightime K1, was purchased by the Starr family from Birubi Limousins, Wagga, as a calf at foot last year.
Weighing 561 kilograms, the Wulfs Exellsior son was awarded first in his class, Calf Champion Limousin bull, Grand Champion Limousin bull and Supreme champion beef Bull of Show out of 130 exhibits on Saturday
All this before coming out on top of the interbreed bull judging and supreme exhibit competition ahead of 16 breeds.
Studs from Victoria and all over NSW converged on Exhibition Park from Friday to Sunday, making way for 600 heads of all breeds of cattle on the grounds.
During the interbreed bull class, judge Andrew Green of Red Hill Herefords, Victoria, said the Limousin had a great outlook, smooth body and was “very thick if you get the opportunity to look at him behind”.
"To make this win more remarkable was the fact that it was Knightime’s first show," Tony said.
"The 12-month-old 561 kilogram bull was bought as a six week old calf at foot at the Limousin National Show with the prospect of becoming one of Starr Limousins leading stud sires.
"The judge’s comments during the interbreed bull class reinforce this."
Another local, Sam Reynolds, also walked away from the cattle exhibition at the show with a satisfying title of reserve senior champion belted galloway female.
