The Office of Sport and Recreation, is holding workshops in the coming months to assist clubs and volunteers to meet their injury prevention and management needs during the upcoming winter sport season.
“Injury prevention and management is a vital part of sport at all levels and these workshops provide a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills required to help effectively manage injury,” Western Region Sport and Recreation development officer Joanne Barrett said.
“The workshops are suitable for volunteers, coaches, parents and students - anyone who is required to provide first aid and sports injury care for athletes and sports teams,” she said.
Accredited by Sports Medicine Australia the series starts on Wednesday, March 18 and includes the following workshops:
• Introduction to Sports Taping
- Bathurst - 6-9pm at CSU Gymnasium, off Panorama Avenue.
- West Wyalong – 6-9pm April at the TAFE Campus, 86 Wootten Street.
- Orange – 6-9pm, May 6 at Sport and Recreation Office, 76 McNamara Street.
- Lithgow – 6-9pm, May 6 at Lithgow PYC, Hoskins Avenue.
• Advanced Sports Taping
- Bathurst - 6-9pm, March 25 at CSU Gymnasium, off Panorama Avenue.
- West Wyalong – 6-9pm April at the TAFE Campus, 86 Wootten Street.
- Orange – 6-9pm, May 13 at Sport and Recreation Office, 76 McNamara Street.
Lithgow – 6-9pm, May 7 at Lithgow PYC, Hoskins Avenue.
