We had 325 rounds played over the four days which was the largest field for a number of years.

The new A Grade champion is Joel Shields who played very solid golf shooting 69 67 69 and 71 for a total of 276, an astonishing four under par.
A very special effort and very popular.
Joel is expanding his golfing abilities in Sydney and he is certainly benefiting from his experiences.
Runner-up was Geoff Walker on 289 (68, 74, 72, 75).
In B Grade Nigel Oxford played solidly over the four rounds for a win with 87, 81, 86 and 84 for 338 from Brant Riley on 342 (84, 84, 90, 84).
In C Grade Peter Doherty posted a solid win with 93, 91, 97 and 88 for 369 from Wayne Honeman on 373.
Jarrod Harding won the Junior Championship.
There was much interested in the 72 hole handicap and Aaryn Murfitt played fantastic golf to win A Grade with a nett score of 278 (69, 71, 70 and 68).
Jarrod Harding was the runner-up on 281 nett (70, 69, 69 and 74).
In B Grade David Martens was the handicap winner on 278 nett (66, 66, 71 and 75) from Mark Flanders who was only one shot away with 72, 74, 62 and 71 totalling 279.
In the C Grade handicap Gary McGrath won with 287 from Erol Perkins on 301.
Congratulations to all winners and also the committee. We are very grateful for the support of members who came out and played all four rounds in almost perfect weather.
On Saturday in conjunction with the third round, a handicap event was played, sponsored by Max Gilbert, Garry Nicolls and John Rolfe.
The A Grade winner was David Cooke with 67 nett, Mark Flanders for B Grade with 62 nett (one under par for the front nine) and Robert Norton won C Grade with 67 nett.
The Watson Toyota NTP winners were Dave Taylor on the seventh and Joel Shields on the 17th.
The Young Car Wash (Mark Crutcher) sponsored the meat raffle.
The Terry Bros Carpet Court secret birdie hole on the first was won by Geoff Walker.
David Martens won the Richard Mellish Insurance Services card draw.
Sunday’s handicap was sponsored by Ken Smith, Brian Page and Wayne Hewson, and the winners were Aaryn Murfitt for A Grade, Mick Kentwell for B Grade and Brian Page won C Grade.
All players were high in their praise for the work of the green staff in having the course in terrific condition.
The Sunday social golfers played at Young with 21 players participating.
The winner was Jason Newham, Guy Gibson in second and Rossco Manskie was third.
Chris Robertson won the Bradman’s, the NTP was not won and gobbles to Bobby Brown, Peter Norton and Jacko Anderson.
TLC Property Maintenance (L Lockton, A Murfitt, R Rainey, L Lockton and S Holmes) took out week nine of the daylight savings team event, sponsored by Young Tyrepower.
In second place was Flanders Eye Q (S Dewar, M Loiterton, M Simmons, C Jones and D Green).
The points score is TLC Property maintenance 36, Young Tyrepower 35, Twomey’s 34, Young Pet Nanny 28, Flanders Eye Q 25, Luke Hartnett Carpentry 23, Essential Energy 22, the Blackguards 22 and the Fruit Barn 9.
On Wednesday 47 players participated in the pro competition, and Grant Harding won with 38 points.
Mark Crutcher had 37, Wayne Hewson 37, Brian Anderson 36 and Alan Moore 36.
Balls to 29 points on a countback.
The jackpot card draw was won by Barry Martens.
We had visitors Jeff Hogan and Tony Mitchell of Toronto, Nathan Schneider and Bryan Anderson from Cootamundra, Jason Bishop of Dunheued and Tom McFarlane of Scotland.
On Friday Wayne Hewson won with 23 points from Mary Haughey 19 and Lyn Quay on 18 points.
Balls to 17 points on a countback.
Following on from the championship the seeded draw for the match play and the matches are as follows:
A Grade - A Murfitt versus M Crutcher, S Sell versus B Oliver, R Oliver versus D Schofield and J French and A Wilder.
B Grade - N Oxford versus P Blizzard, B Riley versus J Oliver, D Martens versus M Dreverman and J Glasheen versus M Flanders.
C Grade - P Doherty versus M Williams, W Honeman versus E Perkins, G McGrath versus M Goodlock and G Anderson versus P Fitzgerald.
Players need to arrange matches and the first round must be played by Sunday, March 29.
The date for the Annual General Meeting is March 31 at 6pm at the clubhouse.
All club members should consider becoming more involved with the activities of the club and standing for the committee.

The week of the mixed match play finals event, sponsored by John Connell and Cherry Blossom Cleaning, saw Noela Hardman and Bill kearney defeat Peter Doherty and Caroline Shan five and four.

Phil Cartwright will be conducting junior golf classes in the school holidays from April 13 for four days.
Boys and girls aged between nine and 17 years old are welcome.
