The two-year-old colt has had a strong start to his career (four starts for two thirds and two seconds) and has owners Alf Bedford, Josh Powderly, Buck Hill, Pacer Pettit, Col Levy, P Lindley, R Lindley, Steve Elsley, Rod Smith and Graham Richard feeling optimistic for the coming weekend.
Condafew will start Race 3 of the $7000 Alabar Bloodstock Gold Crown.
But co-owner Powderly said the crew are hoping for something a little more.
“The local syndicate is hoping he will qualify for the $100,000 final,” he said.
Condafew was bred locally by Greg and Carmen Smith.
The pacer’s name came about when Bedford decided he wanted to buy the horse, and he ‘conned a few’ mates to get in on the action.
