Ms Hodgkinson has been replaced as Primary Industries Minister by upper house Nationals MP Niall Blair, who has also added lands and water to the portfolio. She had served in that portfolio for the duration of the Coalition’s first term.
In the new frontbench revealed by the government on Wednesday, Ms Hodgkinson has been appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary for Southern NSW.
Member for Wagga Daryl Maguire remains a parliamentary secretary but has switched portfolios to veterans and the centenary of ANZAC.
Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli was re-elected as Nationals deputy leader on Wednesday and will continue in the Education portfolio.
Responsibility for TAFE has been taken out of Mr Piccoli’s portfolio and given to new Minister for Skills John Barilaro.
