Teachers and students were encouraged to go a little extra colourful and a little extra blue.
"People with ASD contribute greatly to our communities,” principal Kel Smerdon said.
“For us, the day was about helping people better understand the uniqueness of people with ASD so they are better placed to share in their friendship and in their skills throughout their lives.”
Learning support teacher Katina Parker said people with ASD have made amazing contributions to the world throughout the years - including that of Andy Wohol, Tim Burton (director), Daryl Hannah and Dan Akroyd.
“Like most things in life we often take a deficit perspective on disability,” Kel said.
“Many organisations are now targeting employees with autistic dispositions for jobs that fit this profile.
“If you are looking for a person who has amazing focus and obsessive attention to detail then someone with ASD could your best pick."
