The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) recorded at the local weatherstation, located at the Young Airport, that 22.2mm of rain fell between 9am Tuesday and 9am Wednesday.
Wednesday is now the wettest day so far this month, trumping Tuesday morning’s reading of 21.2mm.
The BOM recorded that 5.2mm fell within the first half an hour of the day’s takings on Tuesday.
Up to 8mm fell between 7pm and 11pm that night.
Local agronomist Paul Parker also recorded in Spring Creek Road, in Young’s west, that 18mm fell in the two and a half hours after 7.45am Tuesday.
More than 44.5mm had fallen on the shire since Friday night, edging the month’s total closer to last April’s 59.4mm.
Local farmers have welcomed the deluge, who say they can now start sowing their winter crops.
