Collier was one of a handfull of players selected from the Woodbridge Cup competition which includes towns Binalong, Cargo, Canowindra, Grenfell, Peak Hill, Condobolin, Trundle, Eugowra, Goolagong and Young.
It is exciting news for the Burrangong club who are fielding a women’s league tag team for the first time.
“That’s pretty massive for us to have someone selected to go play for our group at this level,” club secretary Priscilla Edgerton said.
Collier, who plays fullback for Burrangong, will head to Dubbo over the June long weekend when she will contest a round robin competition.
According to Edgerton she will be an asset to the representative side.
“She’s fit and has extremely good ball skills,” she said. “She gets points on the board and can read the game.”
But for now the Bears will switch their focus back to the coming weekend when the club takes on Canowindra.
Edgerton said the teams have been working on bettering their defense - something which let them down last weekend against Eugowra.
“Hopefully this one will be a closer game than it was at Eugowra last weekend,” she said.
The league tag game will kick off the day at 11.30am, followed by a youth league match between Peak Hill and Binalong at 12.40pm.
First Grade will take to the paddock at 2pm in what is hoped to be a close game.
The club encourages supporters and sponsers to head on down to Cranfield Oval on the weekend where canteen and bar facilities will be available.
“Everyone is invited to come down to Cranfield Oval for the first home game for the Bears which will see some great games of football played,” Edgerton said.
