Police said the crash happened on Back Creek Road about 7.10am Friday, near the intersection of Thornell Street.
The teenager swerved to avoid colliding with a kangaroo, before his car went up an embankment and rolled, landing on its side.
He was conveyed to hospital but sustained only minor injuries.
The car was towed from the scene. No action was taken by police against the driver.
Sergeant Kristen Marshall said drivers needed to take particular care in wet conditions.
She advised people to drive to the road conditions and drop their speed when visibility was reduced.
Sergeant Jim Prentice of Riverina Highway Patrol said if drivers encounter kanagaroos on the road they should always hold straight on the road.
“Obviously you should try to slow to reduce impact, but do not try to swerve to miss the kangaroo because that’s when accidents happen,” he said.
