Raising money for Legacy, these war veteran widows and wives hit the street on Wednesday selling badges and biscuits ahead of the Anzac Centenary commemorations on Saturday.
On three separate occasions they sold badges and homemade Anzac biscuits at IGA and spent Friday morning outside Westpac Bank and the South West Slopes Credit Union.
The Young Army Cadets also volunteered their time to help sell the merchandise by walking Boorowa Street on Friday and approaching businesses.
The women had also sold out of their Anzac biscuits and the $50 badge - usually a rare sell.
“We’ve been flat out all morning,” wife of a Vietnam Veteran, Margaret McGlynn said on Friday.
“It’s been excellent, we’ve had a really good response. It’s been our busiest year.
“The cadets are wonderful, they do such a great job.”
More often than not, the badge table was surrounded by people willing to support the cause.
“It makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, especially when we’ve put so much work into this,” said Sue Hardy, also a wife of a Vietnam Veteran.
“And tomorrow morning will be very emotional.”
Locals may have also noticed some shopfronts decorated for the Anzac Centenary, with frames, wreaths, medals, paper poppies and posters.
