The Junior ‘Pickers headed to Harden last week and produced some pleasing results.
It was a glorious day and the football played mirrored the weather.
Young were successful in most grades from Under 6s to Under 15s, but it was the terrific football from both clubs that was the standout.
Hard but fair, with some enterprising and spirited attacking play, the crowd were the winners on the day, being thoroughly entertained.
The Under 11 ‘Pickers played really well this week to come away with a very convincing 36-12 win over a very big Harden side.
Young really played to their strengths in getting the ball out to their quick men to cause havoc.
Brock and Clay Sing got the scoreboard into action early in the game before Harden hit back right on half time to make it 12-12.
In the second half with more tries to Sam Graziani, Lochie Pratt, Riley and another to Brock Sing really put the nails in the coffin of the Hawkes.

On Saturday we travel to Tumut for our representative games.
Its always a great trip to Tumut to play against a great club at a terrific venue. I encourage you to get up there and after cheering on the Cherrypicker teams, and to check out Tumut.
As a nice change, all of our teams will play together on Saturday.
I’ve seen lots of improvement in our play, with all teams starting to play for each other and are looking more ‘teamy’.
Keep working hard as this is the base for both success and fun.
No complaining, no crying, just work.
Our league tag girls are doing well and there has been a real improvement in our competitiveness this year.
I know it is hard in the 13s especially, where the large numbers can make it hard with continuity and everyone getting adequate game time.
It’s not ideal, but we are glad you are here. Keep working hard and get the most out of both training and games.
A new age group is likely to be added next year which will ease the pressure numbers wise and hopefully help us getting everyone more footy.
Coach Davidson and I are looking at options which may include a Friday night set of games (like a town comp) as another option.
Please inform us if you may have any interest in that in the league tag ages (10 to 13).
I ask that we all stay involved and come to me with any thoughts or issues.
Our coaches are all starting to settle in now so keep talking to them if the kids have any skills or goals they are working towards.
I’m sure our coaches will be happy to help.
Next week we have one of our busy weeks with Temora at home.
We’ll need lots of helpers that day so gear up team.
