Names like Davidson, Reid, Rowntree, Woodward have again taken the field and didn’t waste any time making an impact on the games.
The Yabbies took on Griffith in a determined fashion with great defence from Oscar McCann and Will Stoney.
In their first ever game Charlie Webber and James Rowntree scored a brilliant long range try each and were well supported by Matilda and Ollie Noble.
The second game saw the Yabbies come up against club rivals Grenfell in a match which saw the team improve on their passing and running.
Sam Newell and Hugo Davidson made a number of very good runs weaving through the defenders. It was a brilliant display of rugby, especially for those making their debut.
The Under 11s had a great start to the season with several new players and a few that have never played before- they performed outstandingly.
The first game was against Temora and the Yabbies surprised themselves by winning 25-nil.
The Yabbies came up against a very talented and big Griffith side in game two, going down 30-5. But they never gave up which is the pleasing outcome.
Everyone played well with Sam Smith, Ned Hufton and Charlie Sullivan leading the way and were very well supported by Harry Nuthall
The Under 15s took to the paddock for the first time as a team, consisting of talent drawn from Young, Harden, Boorowa and Cowra. They played Griffith in their inaugural match of the season.
Though perseverance prevailed it was not to be, the final score Griffith 50, Yabbies 5. Try scored by Jonty Langfield.
All players need to commended for continuing to play their best against the larger in stature Griffith side.
Reaffirming play moves and strategic tactics prior to the second match paved the way for uplifted confidence, with the Yabbies defeating Wagga 43-15.
Paddy Fahey also added to the successful result.
