Up to 320 people had a rocking great time and we received $5000 from the night.
We have been holding our usual monthly raffle in IGA which featured the two baskets of handcrafted goodies from the Uniting Church Thursday group, drawn for Mother’s Day to appreciative winners.
A certificate of appreciation was presented to Lyn Martin, current vice-president and long-time member of our branch.
Lyn is leaving Young and we shall miss her constructive input and valued assistance with our many events.
Best wishes from all our members to you Lyn.
On a sad note, one of our life members June Rue passed away.
June was always helpful and with a ready smile, our thoughts are with June’s family at this time.
Currently we are assisting our three Boorowa members to conduct the lunch and trivia event on Sunday, May 31 at Boorowa Ex-Services Club.
It is $15 entry for a two course hot meal, trivia and light entertainment.
Bookings can be made at Carmodys Newsagent 6385 3074 for catering purposes.
Later in the year in early September we will be helping with food at the Tubbul Campdraft Ladies Camp and the following week holding the CanAssist Golf Day.
The Garden Wander is on in October.
Lots coming up and we thank you, the community, for supporting your local cancer charity.
Anyone interested is welcome to join us. Next meeting is June 9 at the Young Services Club at 10.30am.
