The origins of quilting remain unknown, but sewing techniques of piecing, appliqué, and quilting have been used for clothing and furnishings in diverse parts of the world for several millennia.
The display showcases quilts created by women throughout the district and beyond using a variety of designs and fabrics.
Special guest at this year’s show is editor of the Australian Patchwork and Quilting Magazine Elaine Rose.
One of the Quilt Show organisers, Jenny Tate, said she was "chuffed" to host Elaine.
“I want to showcase the quilters in our area and I want to try to get them to design their own quilts rather than copy from patterns all the time," she said.
"And that we’re not in quilt limbo, there’s bloody good quilters out here.”
Head on down to the town hall to see what it’s all about - there will be stalls, prizes and a chance to vote for your pick of the quilts.
