The news first broke of the decision to instead establish a unit at Cowra Health Service to service Young, Boorowa and Cowra at council's May 6 extraordinary meeting.
It was at this meeting Councillor Stuart Freudenstein asked whether they should be "knocking doors down to express their disappointment".
Two weeks later at their May monthly meeting, Young Shire Council was unanimous in its support for a petition requesting the reversal of the decision by the state government not to install a satellite managed renal unit in Young.
It has the promise of at least two councillors who told Wednesday night’s meeting they would pound the street getting signatures.
The petition to protest the loss of the managed renal unit will be circulated around town over the next two weeks with hopes of gaining as many signatures as possible.
Once signed, it will be handed to local MLC Mick Veitch and presented to the NSW Legislative Council.
We'd like to know where you stand on the matter and if you'd support the local fight to bring a managed unit to Young?
