A LOCAL man has been charged with resist arrest after an altercation in Brock Street on Sunday night.
According to police, just after 9pm Sunday, police were on a routine patrol when they observed a 38-year-old Young man making inappropriate gestures towards the police vehicle.
The man was in the company of another young person.
Both were spoken to and were found to be well affected by alcohol.
They were given a ‘move on direction’ from Brock Street but they returned to the area and were arrested.
The older man allegedly violently resisted police efforts and was charged with resist arrest.
The young person was dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
Tractor stolen from Chums Ln
A Massey Ferguson tractor and an attached implement were last week stolen from a Chums Lane property near Young.
The theft is believed to have occurred between Monday, May 18 and Saturday, May 23.
The implement had been in use on the property.
Police inquiries are continuing into the theft but people with further information are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 080 or Young Police on 6382 8199.
Fire destroys Quandy RV
Police are working to establish the cause of a fire that completely destroyed a bus vehicle parked on Glasson Street, Quandialla.
The fire was discovered around 8.40pm last Thursday night and police are wishing anyone with information about this incident to call them on 6382 1477.
Speakers and dog stolen
Police are also investigating the theft of surround sound speakers and a dog from a Crowther Street residence last week.
The theft occurred sometime between 10pm Tuesday, May 19 and 1pm Thursday, May 21.
Teenagers rob stores
Two teenage girls will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act after they went on a shoplifting binge last week.
The girls, one aged 13 and the other aged 14, were apprehended by police at a Brock Street address last Thursday after numerous items of clothing and personal items were stolen from several Young retailers.
The stolen items were recovered by police at the address.
