Councillor Stuart Freudenstein is thrilled with the response.
“I’ve been to businesses who had half a page on Monday who now have three or four sheets filled in,” he said.
With one week remaining before local MLC Mick Veitch is presented with the petition, Cr Freudenstein is hoping more people rally to the cause.
“We want to make the best impression, so the more numbers the better,” he said.
