Greece votes tonight in a referendum on whether it should accept the austerity route and stay in the euro and a "No" win would throw the cat among the pigeons just in time for our market's Monday opening.

After a nerve-racking week of volatility, the market is almost back to where it was when the race started.

But that hasn't stopped the collateral damage with half our racers under water.

Chartist Richard Pritchard extended what would have to be an unbeatable lead that not even Greece, try as it may, could snatch away.

He has the best stock, Coventry Resources, a copper miner which for no discernible reason jumped 35 per cent in one day.

But don't get excited – that represented a rise of 1.5¢ to not even 6¢.

The second-best stock so far is Aconex, which sells a cloud platform to the construction industry and was chosen by two different generations in our race: reigning champion 16-year-old Ben Richards and the 80-something Ben-ites investment club. The rest of us are somewhere in between.

Aconex scored three big deals during the week, signing up John Holland and Lend Lease in one day and the giant Bechtel on another.

The week before it upgraded its profit forecast from its float prospectus, always a market pleaser.

But keep an eye on Select Harvests selected – sorry – by small stock punter Richard Hemming.

The nut exporter is a winner from the drought in California, a major producer of almonds.
