Results for the weekend are as follows: Red Backs 1 (A McInerney) drew with DTS 1 (H McInerney); Blues 3 (C Foster) def Cougars 2 (B Kenny, L Wilkinson); Bears 6 (K Martin 2, J McKay 2, J Dunk, A Robertson).
A fun game was had by Red Backs and DTS this week with Ashleigh McInerney opening the scoring by being in the crucial spot beside the post to push the goal right in past the goalie.
Hugh McInerney also scored this week for the other team from a short corner scuffle to find a gap between the goalie’s legs and the game was pretty tight after that, with no-one giving much leeway on possession of the ball.
Brady Kenny was first to score in the match between Cougars and Blues from a short corner.
Courtney Foster however had a blinder with three goals during this match.
All three goal conversions resulted in a one on one with the goalie, well done Courtney!
Loren Wilkinson also scored for Cougars this week with a great shot across the goal.
With an understrength Vipers standing strong the Bears were just on fire this week with their win over the Vipers.
Kyle Martin and Jenny McKay both scoring two each, Janice Dunk and Andrew Robertson scoring for Bears as well.
Unfortunately the Vipers were just outdone by numbers as they struggled to keep up.
Andrew and Kyle played strongly for Bears whilst Teresa Campbell and Hugh McInerney played hard for Vipers.
The draw for Saturday, July 18 is as follows:
1.30pm
G1 DTS versus Bears
(Penguins/Cougars).
BYE: Cougars.
Duty: Vipers.
3pm
G1 Blues versus Penguins
(DTS/Bears).
G2 Cougars versus Red Backs
(DTS/ Bears).
Duty: Bears.

Our general training sessions at Sawpitt Gully on Thursday nights from 6pm are continuing during the holidays.
Our new lights look great so why not come out and take a look with a bonus training session to boot!
Any player is welcome to turn up.
These sessions are not team based, but all about learning skills, with a game to finish. All new players are welcome.
This training session is also open to players who are not in a winter team, but would still like to learn about hockey.
