Our annual junior soccer carnival is taking place this Sunday, August 2 and we hope all players and spectators have an enjoyable day.
If you are able to assist on the day with set up on the morning from 7am or volunteering to help on the barbecue or in the canteen during the day or pack up in the afternoon, then that would be greatly appreciated.
Many hands make light work, so please don’t be shy in offering some time.
Players need to be there early as lots of teams start their first game at 8.30am.
As spectators and players there is a code of behavior that we must all adhere to, a code that we all agree to when we register our children or ourselves to play soccer.
Part of that code of behavior is to respect the decisions of match officials and teach children to do the same.
This is a reminder that under no circumstances will disrespect or abuse of match officials be tolerated and if any spectators or players are guilty of such actions they will face disciplinary action by Young Lions Soccer Club or Football NSW.
If you are not familiar with the code of behavior then please visit the home page of our website where you will find links to view the codes.
As we draw near to the end of the season we need all team coaches to give some thought to player awards. Each coach is asked to nominate a “most valuable player” and a “coaches award”.
Please submit your nominations ASAP but by no later than August 10. Nominations can be handed in to any of the executive committee members.
Good luck to all our carnival teams !
Wow, what a day at the Forbes Soccer Carnival on Sunday, our Under 8s Young CPC team played four games in the Under 9s section playing really well against some fierce teams.
There was some great defence by Sean Hughes and Oscar Taylor with a smashing goal save by Ben Knapman. Goals were scored by Nicholas Vu, Josh Cameron and Billy Brown. Hunter Wells made some awesome runs in the forwards and scored a cracking goal while Riley Butcher scored with a penalty shot.
It was a great day all round with the boys showing off their passing skills, team work and sportsmanship.
The boys won three out of their four games and are very excited to be playing on Sunday against the Canberra teams.
