This is according to minutes from of the Young and Harden Fruit Industry Committee meeting held in Young.
The survey will be undertaken by Heleen Kruger from the Australian National University and Charles Darwin University, who is studying how to improve area-wide management of fruit fly.
Her work in social sciences has been recognised as a contributor in the 2014 draft National Fruit Fly Research Development and Extension Plan.
QFF is considered the most devastating insect pest of horticultural crops in eastern Australia.
