Ned Mannoun has publicly challenged Robert Borsak to repeat - without the protection of parliament - allegations made on Thursday night, including claims of dodgy real estate deals, stolen property and a reference to a suspicious council fire.

"I am shocked and disgusted by this hideous misuse of parliamentary privilege to question my integrity," Cr Mannoun said in a Facebook post.

"I can guarantee he won't repeat his concocted and highly defamatory lies that are totally unsubstantiated."

Cr Mannoun also questioned why the MP had not disclosed that his son, Adam, works for the United Services Union, which had been waging industrial action against the council over staff outsourcing.

"It looks very suspicious that his son works for the union, and the union is out there running amok in Liverpool Council," Cr Mannoun told Fairfax Media.

The union confirmed Adam Borsak had been an employee for about three years but would make no further comment.

Mr Borsak said he would be speaking with Local Government Minister Paul Toole about the matters raised in parliament, but he had no comment about his son's employment as a membership officer with the union.

The council's chief executive Carl Wulff rejected any wrongdoing following the allegations of unorthodox staff appointments, favourable council leases and conflicts of interest raised by Mr Borsak, who also detailed controversies from Mr Wulff's time at Queensland's Ipswich City Council.

"I encourage anyone who has evidence of corrupt conduct at Liverpool Council to inform ICAC," Mr Wulff said in a statement.

The Ipswich allegations were investigated by the Queensland Crime and Misconduct Commission, "which found no evidence of misconduct," he said.

Cr Mannoun said he was "happy for anyone to look at any of the things that were raised by Mr Borsak about me".

This included the claim: "if you want to get your high-rise development approved, it helps to give a unit to Ned's father", and that Cr Mannoun left a job at the Mt Pritchard Community Club after he stole gym vouchers.

Cr Mannoun rejected the claim about his father and said the suggestion he had stolen vouchers was "absurd", but he would not comment when asked if he was sacked from the club.

"Best to speak to them about my employment there," he said.

However, Mounties Group chief executive Greg Pickering said he "won't be saying anything" about someone's personnel record, including Cr Mannoun's.

"I spoke to him this morning and I told him that's exactly what I'd say," Mr Pickering said.
