Young put on wonderful spring weather for the occasion which really added to the atmosphere of the event.
Ex-students travelled from Queensland, ACT, South Australia and NSW and one from Wales.
Young High School principal, Keith Duran took the group on a tour of Young High School on the Saturday morning.
A dinner was later held at the Young Services Club that night.
1959 sports captain Bill Murray OAM acted as master of ceremonies for the evening.
Bill and 1959 school captain Tony Waugh cut the cake.
The ex-students were entertained by Young High School student, soloist, Ashleigh Bennett accompanied by her father, Kevin Bennett on keyboard.
All ex-students agreed that if Ashleigh is any indication, YHS is still a place giving students every opportunity to excel.
A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all, catching up on happenings since leaving school as well at reliving fond memories of the fifties school days and renewing friendships.
The weekend culminated in a brunch at Wilders Bakery on Sunday morning after which the locals farewelled the travellers and promises were made not to leave it so long (over 25 years) before another reunion was held.
