It’s here Young/Boorowa CanAssist has chosen to hold this year’s garden wander fundraiser.
Every year the local branch picks a garden in the shire spectacularly created and cared for by its owners and invites the town to a day out to fundraise for local cancer patients.
Graeme and Ros Schneider of 222 Willawong Street have kindly opened their gates to their two and a half acre property “Faerie Bower” for the 2015 event.
Between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, October 18, locals and visitors are invited to wander among the deciduous trees, native plants and garden art spread throughout.
The house is edged by camellias, hydrangeas and hellebores.
“Diversity is how I would describe this garden, complemented by the garden art,” Young/Boorowa CanAssist president Gail Hanigan said.
“And there’s a lot of wrens that fly around.”
This year’s garden wander will feature all the favourite side attractions such as morning and afternoon tea, lunch, coffee cart, raffle and the Echidna plant stall.
Entry into the garden is $5 with children free.
All the funds raised from the day will go to Young/Boorowa CanAssist.
Gail said make sure you watch for the signs that will lead you down Wombat Street, left onto Gordon Street and onto Willawong Street.
