While local schools held their annual novelty events in the afternoon that always guarantees hilarity, adults took a more traditional approach and attended pubs and clubs, and luncheons, dressed to the occasion, fascinators and all.
At Young North Public School students participated in the annual Melbourne Cup Walkathon. Student sponsorship raised approximately $2500 for the school which will go towards IT purchase
At Hennessy the Year 12 Leadership Team developed a fun filled Melbourne Cup day, with the aim to raise funds and awareness for the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.
The team developed a day full of fun, with raffles thanked the local business; students participated in the Hennessy Derby, fashions on the field and much more to engage the students across the College.
The students would like to thank the business below for their donations and support for the day. The businesses include:
Cint, Donges IGA, Gary’s Gourmet Meats, Hair House Ware House, Bakers Delight, Full Moon Magic, Gusollios, Sports Power, Boutique 99, Jolly Roger, Label A, M n M’s Music, Fruit Barn, Young Work Wear, Wilders Bakery, Connelly’s Office National, McDonalds, Donges IGA, Jewelz and Things, Poppa’s Fudge Factory and Thru the Rainbow.
