Kate, who is gunning for this year’s Cherry Queen, held an auction to raise money for the Mercy Care Auxillary and could only watch in disbelief as a miniature colt donated by Richard Causer, was sold and donated back four times!
“I can’t believe it!” said Katie.
“I am extemely grateful for all the assistance and support.
“I couldn’t ask for anymore.”
For Steve Hollaway of Hollaway Stock and Property, it was a tremendous result and he was proud as punch that the buyers donated back the miniature colt so it could eventually be bought by the girl who wanted it.
“Gerrard Partners paid $260 then donated it back,” he said.
“Then we bought it for $200 and donated it back before Kevin Miller of Miller and Co bought it for another $200 and donated it back,” Steve said.
“Then it was sold for $130 to the owner and the commissions and other fees were paid by Hollaway’s.”
The buckskin mini sold four times in total and helped Kate raise $790 on the day just from the continuous resale of the animal.
It also marks the final fundraising event for Kate before the Cherry Queen is announced in only a few short weeks.
“I am very happy with how the day went and so far I have raised approximately $4000,” she said.
“I have been pleased with all the events I’ve held.
“And I am very appreciative of all the donations and support!”
