Baird government warned prison overcrowding could result in 'legal consequences' for the state

The Baird government has been warned it could face legal action if it fails to resolve the crisis engulfing the state's overcrowded prison system, which is resulting in alleged offenders being held in "unsuitable and rudimentary cells" for extended periods of time.
