The young people had their mobile phones destroyed after they were found to be sexting and distributing provocative images of themselves to friends.
The phones were valued in excess of $500 each.
As a result of NSW legislation, mobile phones can now be destroyed if any person is found guilty and convicted of such offences, which involve production, dissemination or possession of child abuse material.
Police said any person found sexting, or possessing child abuse material will have their mobile phones destroyed as a result.
Young Police’s message to young people is “don’t send or publish images of yourself and don’t distribute any sent to you”.
