The Capitals are languishing at the bottom of the ladder after losing their first nine games of the season. One more loss would equal the longest losing streak in the club's history.
But star forward Abby Bishop has urged the team to tap into the "proud past" of the Southern Cross Stadium winning record that made opposition teams shake at the knees.
The Capitals won 26 games in a row at Tuggeranong between 2005-09 before shifting their base to the bigger AIS Arena.
The Capitals have struggled to get any momentum this season and another loss would be a crippling blow after officials announced this week plans for a review into their operations on and off the court.
Bishop hopes a change of venue can bring about a change of fortune and mentality when they play the Melbourne Boomers on Saturday night.
"We have to embrace the change, it's a smaller stadium and our fans sit in there quite nicely. We've been successful in the past in Tuggeranong and we have to remember that and take confidence from it," Bishop said.
"When you're really struggling, you grab on to the little things. Knowing we've had success in Tuggeranong before is huge and that's something we all need.
"It's about pride as well. I was part of the Capitals when we won 26 in a row in Tuggeranong, it's pride about the program and we have to show that in every game we play."
The Capitals are also set to play games at the Royal Theatre in Civic as part of an ACT Government initiative to have more events on in the city.
Former general manager Lachlan Searle will be in charge of the Capitals review as he searches for a way to move Canberra into the future.
Players and coaches are on notice to improve after the poor start to the season, which has the team on the cusp of the record-equalling losing run.
The Capitals have only lost 10 games in a row once before - during the 1996-97 season.
"I'm not really worried about the review, I worry about basketball and doing the best I can to help the team," said US import Renee Montgomery.
"I've lost four games [since arriving], the team is 0-9, we don't need any more motivation. We need to win, not just one, we need a few in a row."
