It was a further blow to The Championships after the autumn carnival lost another star on Tuesday when Coolmore announced that  Golden Slipper winner Vancouver would be sent to Ireland for the remainder of his career under the guidance of Aidan O'Brien.

There is a chance Press Statement could end up in the northern summer as well and it was one of the considerations when a program was discussed by the ownership group headed by Vinery and trainer Chris Waller.

The son of Hinchinbrook is already a group 1 mile winner at two in the JJ Atkins and three in the Caulfield Guineas, but Vinery boss Peter Orton said for his future in the breeding barn the All Aged Stakes is the better target.

"We have mapped out a program of five runs ending in the All Aged Stakes, which year in and year out has proven itself one of the best races on the calendar," Orton said. "I personally think  the 1400m at Randwick is best test for what Australians look for in a stallion – speed and stamina."

The All Aged is seen as a stallions' race, with All Too Hard and Dissident winning it in the past three years, while its honour roll since moving to 1400m in 2004 includes Racing To Win, Hay List and Atlantic Jewel.

"It has a great record of producing champion winners and is a most underrated race in terms of prizemoney, but not what it can do for a stallion," Orton said. "The Doncaster doesn't have the same appeal to us.

"We think Press Statement will be that little bit sharper with maturity this time, so he will go to the Randwick Guineas and George Ryder Stakes before the All Aged. We will put in a nomination for the Doncaster but only as a safeguard. There is always the thought of Europe as well if everything goes to plan."

Press Statement started his campaign with a fourth behind Pride Of Dubai in a Randwick barrier trial on Tuesday, which is aimed to have him ready for a return against his own age in the Eskimo Prince Stakes at Randwick on February 6 before the Hobartville Stakes two weeks later.

Peter Snowden was delighted with Pride Of Dubai's return but has yet to lock in an autumn program for him and is leaning towards another trial, believing the Expressway Stakes, his first option, might come up a bit quick at Rosehill on January 30.

Snowden said Magic Millions Classic winner Capitalist had returned to Sydney and gone "for five days in the paddock" before starting the final push to the Golden Slipper, for which he is a $3.60 favourite at Ladbrokes.

Coolmore racing manager James Bester said the decision to send Vancouver to Ireland came after it become clear it would be a rush to get him ready for the autumn.

Coolmore, in consultation with Gai Waterhouse, opted to send him to master trainer O'Brien sooner rather than later to target Royal Ascot and other European summer meetings.

"We have had success with Haradasun, Starspangledbanner and So You Think when we have sent horses over there to win group 1s," Bester said. "Aidan O'Brien will work out where he best suits but I would think he will be given the chance to express the pedigree on his father side, which would be around the mile.

"The Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot is a race we won with Haradasun, but the final decision will be Aidan O'Brien's."

Meanwhile, Gary Portelli was happy with Rebel Dane's third in a barrier trial and he will head to Melbourne for The Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley on January 23 before the Orr Stakes and the Futurity.
