Brendan Lyon, the elder brother of Test cricketer, Nathan, will conduct the clinic on Wednesday, January 20.
As the clinic has focused on northern NSW in the last 12 months, it’s the first time it will be held in Young.
“We’ve spent a lot of time in northern NSW but decided to come southern and obviously being my home town - Nathan and I growing up playing junior cricket here - I just wanted to get back here,” Lyon said.
The clinic provides specialist coaching for junior cricketers aged between seven and 17 years old.
It will cover a broad range of categories from all skills of cricket, match awareness and drill activities.
“It’s a full on day of drills and skills and I hope we can unearth some future champion cricketers,” he said.
According to Lyon the clinic brings confidence and enthusiasm to those who attend.
“They often walk away pretty exhausted, but you can see the excitement in their face,” he said.
“The opportunity to bring it back to the country - as often the city kids get more opportunity - it’s great to get back to the country and help out.”
The clinic will be held at Keith Cullen Oval at a cost of $80 for the day.
There is also a wet weather alternative.
