The two schools were part of the upgrade to around 500 public schools which took place over the Christmas school holidays.
Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson said 22 projects had been undertaken at 14 Cootamundra electorate schools while students and staff have been enjoying the summer holidays.
“With schools free of students and staff during the summer break, the holidays provided tradies and contractors the time they needed to make improvements, repairs and upgrade facilities,” she said.
“We want our students to have the best possible schools and we remain focused on ensuring improvements across the state continue to be made.”
Examples of minor works and maintenance at schools include upgrading classrooms, painting, toilet upgrades and grounds improvements.
The schools benefiting from minor works and/or maintenance in Cootamundra electorate are were Cootamundra Public School, Illabo Public School, Junee North Public School, Marrar Public School, Nangus Public School, Naradhan Public School, Temora Public School, Ungarie Central School, Weethalle Public School, Cowra Public School, Gooloogong Public School, Holman Place School, Mulyan Public School and Quandialla Public School.
Young North and Holmwood Public Schools have benefited from integration projects making schools more accessible for students with disability.
“The investment in these improvements to Cootamundra electorate schools is part of the $450 million committed by the NSW government to enhance public school infrastructure,” Ms Hodgkinson said.
“This targeted funding will make our schools better places for students to learn and teachers to teach.”
