The day was very successful - numbers are growing, the oldest competitor was 99 years old and everyone enjoyed their year.
It was very hard to decide Bowler of the Year as all had improved so much.
In the end it was decided that an equal first had to be given.
Kay McDonald came on board and donated our trophies. Thank you Kay.
Equal Bowler of the Year was awarded to Joan WOodhouse and Eric Smith.
A special award was given to bowler Rob Johnson. This bowler is an inspiration to all.
He joined us mid-year as a right hand bowler who played well, despite having thumb cancer which required many operations.
His love for bowls was so great he returned and played left handed, of which he did well.
He deserved the award.
Eric Smith thanked Wilma Moors-Galvan and Reg Hayes for giving up their Mondays to teach the residents.
The year ended with each bowler getting a Christmas chocolate and card, and also the residents - who for health reasons cannot bowl - but came along each week to cheer the bowlers on. They are all part of our team.
