Under 12s best performance yet
On Sunday Young Under 12 juniors played West Wyalong in the return match at Young in the Lachlan Cricket Competition.
Young lost the toss and were told to have a bowl.
Our opening bowlers had a great start with Corey Lucas bowling West Wyalong’s strike batter and captain with the first ball of the game.
The next batters held their own for a while before Young’s captain Clancy Hislop came on to take two wickets before drinks.
After drinks saw much of the same with Dan Canellis, Cooper Anderson and Jack Nicolls all taking wickets.
Dan Smith deserves a mention taking two great catches.
West Wyalong finished all out for 52.
This was the best the boys have bowled and fielded this year with only 10 extras and removing a team in 27 overs.
Young started their chase on the front foot but a nice ball removed Cooper Cross.
It was left to Sam Corkhill to lead from the front with a 30 not out and Clancy with 18 to win the game in 15 overs.
Young finished on top in the southern pool and will now have a home game against second place from the northern pool in two weeks.
