Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard play a couple of decent, respectable folk tempted by the prospect of an extramarital affair in David Lean's 1945 romance – the ultimate ambivalent tribute to the British "stiff upper lip". Though the script is based on a 1936 play by Noel Coward, the foreboding atmosphere belongs very much to World War II. Digitally projected. WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? (131 minutes) M

Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor are the married couple from hell in Mike Nichols' adaptation of the famous play by Edward Albee​ – a shocker by the standards of 1966 Hollywood, and still provocative counter-programming for Valentine's Day. Haskell Wexler's black-and-white cinematography adds to the stylish hysteria. Asif Kapadia's​ documentary on the late pop, soul and jazz singer Amy Winehouse​ stresses her tumultuous private life as much as her music. But rather than an exploitative cash-in, it's a genuinely fond tribute, with ample archival footage demonstrating that onstage and off Winehouse remained brilliant, erratic, unguarded and thoroughly lovable. ZOOLANDER 2 (102 minutes) M

This long-awaited new adventure for bird-brained supermodel Derek Zoolander (writer-director-star Ben Stiller​) finds him returning to the catwalk in Rome, where he crosses paths with some old friends and foes. The premise has lost some of its freshness since the original Zoolander in 2001, but there are enough offbeat jokes and talented performers to ensure a good time. General.
