Last week St Mary’s Primary School’s canteen manager Megan Coddington (pictured) was recognised for her outstanding contributions during a special school assembly, followed by an awards ceremony in Canberra on Friday evening.
Yes, the food at the school canteen is healthy, affordable, and definitely delicious, and Megan ensures there are new additions to keep things fresh for her customers throughout the year.
Megan also arranges special days that enable the children to have an occasional treat like a Dagwood Dog.
But it was not just her culinary skills that attracted this award, it was her skills at building the community and contributing to the life of the school in so many ways, and with such consistency.
“In her role as canteen manager, Megan consistently exceeds expectations through her positive attitude, caring approach and boundless enthusiasm,” St Mary’s Primary School principal Louise Grant said.
“Her work with the volunteers at the canteen has been instrumental in building a community at St Mary’s and we are very grateful to her for being so welcoming, encouraging and supportive of the school.”
