By the time the crews arrived, it was purely for mop-up operations thanks to the quick thinking crew from local feed product company Ambos.
According to police, who also attended the fire, the call for assistance at a grass fire went out at around 1.30pm, Friday, April 29.
When police arrived the fire was observed to be burning in a creek beside a residence.
Within minutes it had spread to the paddock of a neighbouring property, owned by Ambos Stock Feeds.
At this time the wind had picked up, but not before the Ambos staff turned up in their fire truck and turned the water hose on the blaze, dousing the flames.
Police say the fire allegedly started as a resident was attempting to burn dry reeds in Victoria Creek.
