Fashion Week Australia: Burn your bra, you won't need it

The lure of a boss designer like By Johnny meant that the fashion set and the who's who were out in force for his mid-morning Fashion Week Australia show on Tuesday.

Seated front row, aka the frow, of the rugged Blacksmith's Workshop at Carriageworks were WAG queens Kyly Clarke and Terry Biviano.

Also seated with a bird's eye view was another queen, this time in the form PR guru, Roxy Jacenko. The Sweaty Betty boss was decked out to kill for day three of the fashion circus in an outfit the price of a small car - a navy Balmain jacket and black Hermes bag.

Taking her mind off husband Oliver Curtis' ongoing trial for insider trading, Jacenko told Fairfax Media after Johnny Schembri's models had strutted their to-actually-die-for threads that she "loved" the show, while at the same time giving fellow socialite Clarke an air kiss.

Clarke also gushed about the metallics, polka-dots, peplums, backless, ribbons, and shoulder-less wares she had just seen strutting by.

"I would love one of everything. They look so wearable, even to just wear around the house," she laughed.

The new mum, who gave birth to daughter Kelsey-Lee in November with retired cricketer husband Michael Clarke, is "loving family life", adding: "It's just really cute to see Michael with her."

Wearing a skintight By Johnny dress, Clarke admitted it was no easy feat to get her figure back to her pre-baby days, but explained she now incorporates her little girl in her workouts.

"It's such hard work to get back into shape," she said. "I've been using Kelsey-Lee when I do my sit-ups. I do as much as I can, fun wise, with her.

"I'll sit her on my knees and do fun things like that or every time I do a press-up, I give her little kisses."

She said the mum and baby exercise regime is working for her, "otherwise you'd only be able to get 20 minutes in," she explained.

Meanwhile, stylist to the stars Jules Sebastian explained she was attending for "business and pleasure". While keeping an eye out for By Johnny pieces that would suit her clients ("everything," she said FYI), she loves to look at pieces for herself too.

The Tea with Jules star and mother-of-two is currently "holding down the fort" while husband Guy Sebastian is in LA recording his "eighth studio album". But even the South Pacific Ocean could not separate the pair from this year's Eurovision Song Contest with them watching the show while talking together on their phones.

The Like A Drum singer was the first ever official entrant for Australia last year, coming in an impressive fifth overall.

"We always say [Eurovision] was one of the best moments of our lives," Jules said.

Other notable faces at the By Johnny show were top model Bridget Malcolm, former The Bachelor star Anna Heinrich, Big Brother alum Tully Smyth, and Myer ambassador Rachael Finch.
