And it’s a very special occasion.
Because Young is the ONLY fire Station in NSW to play host to the full size cut-out of the Lego Firefighter Man who is readying himself for photo opportunities.
Local firefighters are encouraging people to visit throughout the day.
The Young Fire Station will be open from 10am to 2pm providing an opportunity for families to meet their local firefighters and learn more about fire prevention.
A range of free activities will be on offer, including firefighting demonstrations, station tours and fire safety presentations.
Firefighters will also provide advice on installing smoke alarms, changing smoke alarm batteries and preparing a home fire escape plan.
Adding to the mix - locals can get up close to a real full size Army Tank, provided by John Byrne, to help promote Post Traumatic Stress awareness.
After downing doughnuts, provided by Wilders Bakery, kids can take turns on the jumping castle, provided by Cherry City Jumping Castles.
There will be a colouring-in competition - with every entry getting a sample bag - and a barbecue.
Captain Ryan Terry said it is a great opportunity to come and talk to the local brigade about how you can reduce the risk of fire destroying your life.
