You have until 8pm tonight to enrol or update your enrolment details online at aec.gov.au.
Electoral Commissioner Tom Rogers said all Australian citizens aged 18 years and over are required by law to enrol and vote.
“Over 94 per cent of eligible Australians are enrolled, but that leaves approximately 950 000 eligible Australians who are not currently enrolled to vote in the 2016 federal election,” he said.
Mr Rogers also urged Australians who are already enrolled, but who have moved since the 2013 federal election, to update their enrolment details online by the Monday deadline.
To check your enrolment details go to aec.gov.au/check or call 13 23 26.
“If you can’t enrol online, pick up a paper enrolment form at any AEC office or Australia Post outlet and return them to the AEC by 8pm Monday,” Mr Rogers said.
It is now too late to post an enrolment form to the AEC.
Enrolment forms can be returned in person to an AEC office or uploaded to aec.gov.au/return.
All enrolment forms must be received by the AEC by the 8pm Monday, May 23 deadline.
