BUSINESS of three former shire councils was meticulously dealt with in around 40 minutes as administrator Wendy Tuckerman chaired her first extraordinary meeting of Hilltops Council.

Minutes of the April meeting of the former Young Shire Council and deferment of a development application for a subdivision at 10 Boyds Lane were the only items of interest aligned with Young at the meeting which was attended by just one local resident.
Bribbaree farmer David Noakes was the lone voice in the packed Harden Shire Council Chambers on Tuesday evening, the remaining representation confined to council directors and one media representative.
Ms Tuckerman was flanked by her interim general manager Anthony McMahon and interim deputy general manager David Aber.
Seated before her were directors of the former shire councils, Young represented by operations director Dirk Wymer, Planning, Environment and Strategic Services director Craig Filmer and Acting Utility Services director Peter Grove. Young’s corporate services director Greg Armstrong, currently on leave, was not present.
Ms Tuckerman stepped through the line items representing a 469 page, 15 item agenda, first outlining next steps for the administration of the newly-formed council - resulting from the merger of Young, Harden and Boorowa Councils.
She told the meeting the member recommendations for the newly-appointed Local Representative Committees had been sent to the minister for ratification.
Ms Tuckerman said she hoped to announce those committees by the end of the week.
She earlier told The Witness, those appointed members would sit on local committees in the respective towns of Harden, Young and Boorow, advising her on council matters.
“Members of the committee will also be a contact for local community members to feed back to me any ideas or concerns,” she said.
“Those representatives are not councillors but advisors and I look forward to receiving their assistance during my period of administering the Hilltops Council,” she said.
“ During my previous 12 years as a councillor representing the community I have shaped my decisions around a consultative approach and I look forward to continuing to do so as administrator,” Ms Tuckerman said.
All recommendations put to the meeting were moved and endorsed by Ms Tuckerman.
