The twin seat fixed wing single engine Currus was enroute to Sydney from Leeton when it called in notifying local authorities it was experiencing engine problems.
According to local police the pilot said the engine was operating at half capacity.
The aircraft was located approximately 10 kilometres from Young Airport when the call came in around 5.20pm.
Officer in charge of Young Police Station Inspector Ashley Holmes said police, fire and ambulance crews were on scene at the Maimuru airport when the flight came in without incident.
“The plane made a safe landing, there were no issues and the pilot and passenger were unhurt,” Inspector Holmes said.
The aircraft remained on the tarmac overnight as the pilot and his passenger were whisked away in a waiting Range Rover.
