Jacob Hardy bagged himself four tries and set up another in a top performance to earn him Players’ Player.
The Young boys did an extremely good job to win the game 46-10 in the poor conditions.
It was a battle for both sides in the first half with Young’s defence once again proving to be a tough line to crack.
Forwards Jake Walker, Will Canellis, Gus Smith, Casey Wall, Jesse Corcoran and Nick Boland had plenty to do as the two sides bashed it up the middle time and time again.
In the 20th minute, an individual effort from Hardy saw the Young account opened with a try next to the posts which was converted by Jesse Corcoran.
With six minutes to go in the first half, Hardy muscled his way over the line to score his second try under the posts which was converted by Jesse Corcoran.
Right on the half-time siren, Hardy made a break in the middle of the feild before offloading to Jesse Corcoran backing up to score under the posts.
Corcoran convert his try to take Young into the sheds with an 18-nil lead.
Both coaches gave big praise to the forwards for the effort they put in and instructed the boys to stay out of the middle of the field as much as possible and keep the passes tight.
Two minutes into the second half, Hardy scored his third try by showing the same determination he did in the first half.
Corcoran converted to take the lead to 24 –nil.
Brady LeStrange then finished off some good backline ball movement to bag himself a well-deserved try. Corcoran once again added the extra points and the score went to 30-nil.
Once again Young’s forwards dug their heels in and proved to be too strong for the Temora side and set the platform for DJ Slater to finish off in the corner for an unconverted try to put Young in front 34-nil.
Temora then opened up their account and scored the first of their two tries making it 34-4.
Young’s Casey Wall - off the back of some good forward runs - darted out from dummy half and showed too much pace for the Temora side to take the score to 40-4.
While Hardy wasn’t to be outdone, he scored his fourth try of the day with a 50 metre run, beating several defenders and scoring in the corner .
Corcoran kicked the goal from the sideline.
With only a minute left on the clock Temora scored their last try and made the final score 46 -10.
It was a big effort from the Young side and with the addition of Nick Boland coaches Steve Woolford and Stuart Norton are now in a good position with each player having to put in 100 per cent to keep their spot in a side that is definitely proving the side to beat in the Wiessel Cup competition.
