The event is to acknowledge the friendliness accorded to White by the indigenous people and the mutual respect they had for each other.
The leader of the indigenous Wiradjuri group, which was part of many tribal groups was named Cobborn Jacky by White.
White settled on a block and at lambing time, he bought his breeding stock down in the valley for protection and a permanent water supply.
The name of Lambing Flat has it's origins from this activity.
The local Aboriginal Land Council are major sponsors of the day plus club members Darryl Brown and Dave Taylor.
Visitors are welcome to participate.
The club are very hopeful the day is well supported by members.
