The Bears held Canowindra to 22-6 at half time before winning the second half on a field club person Peter Campbell described as a “bog”.
“It was a pretty good effort,” he said. “We had a half back out, one of our centres who’s gone for the season, and a front rower.”
“We’re getting better every week, the enthusiasm’s good and they’re trying.”
Final result was 14-28 to the third-placed Tigers.
Young’s league tag side also felt the force of the Tigers who put an 18-4 win on the Bears.
Players player went to Kayla Pocock who was a standout on the day. Points also to Jenny Tohne and Nadine Wilkinson.
