With this in mind, I am excited to announce that Hilltops Council is partnering with the NSW government to aid in the delivery of a community grants program, The Stronger Communities Fund.
The fund aims to support local communities by funding projects that will build more vibrant and inclusive local communities and provide more opportunities within them.
The community grants program has a total allocation of $1 million and up to $50,000 sums can be applied for by incorporated not-for-profit community groups and Section 355 committees of council.
To assist in the application process, 15 community forums are being organised across the Hilltops Council area.
They will be held between the July 18-29 with a schedule of times and locations available below, on Council’s website, or from the three Council Administration offices.
The forums will provide an opportunity to update the community on where Council is at in the transition process.
This initiative offers the Hilltops communities the opportunity to build a stronger and better region for future generations by setting aside the issues of our past, understanding and appreciating our differences and move ahead together for the benefit of all.
The Community Forum Schedule:
July 18 – Koorawatha Hall (5pm); Young Town Hall (7pm); July 19 - Galong Hall (5pm); Jugiong Hall (7pm); July 20 – Wombat Hall (5pm); Harden Mechanics Institute (7pm); July 21 – Rugby Hall (5pm); Rye Park Hall (7pm); July 25 – Murringo Hall (5pm); Boorowa Ex Services Club (7pm); July 26 – Bribbaree Hall (6pm); July 28 – Monteagle Hall (5pm); Bendick Murrell Hall (7pm); July 29 – Reids Flat Hall (5pm); Frogmore Hall (7pm).
