Young played host to the Orange Tigers in what doubled as the club’s annual Old Boys Day.
The Saints went down to the Tigers in First Grade 47-71 in what club person Geoff Harmer said was a good, hard tussle of football.
“We were right in it up until half way through the last quarter – discipline got the best of us, we gave away too many fifties and had a few guys sent to the bin, but we were right up there in it and it didn’t go our way sadly,” he said.
In the women's division the Saintees came excruciatingly close to a win, only one point the difference as they took on second-placed Tigers, 21-20.
Harmer said the Saintees played some quality football that left Orange unable to answer to their back line defence.
The Under 14s also recorded a loss as they went down 75-1 to the Bathurst Bushrangers on Sunday.
